Hakko 4x21 / CMO 4x21
5.56x45 - 4x - Japan - Multi

The Hakko 4x21 is a compact scope similar in size and ability to the Colt 3x20 scope. Hakko sold them under the Blue Ring mark or under the C.M.O. (Combat Military Optic) name. The scopes were sold with a variety of different mounts and with either a non illuminated, fiber optic illumiated or battery illumiated reticle.

The scopes show a clear connection to the El-Op 3x21 scope produced in Israel for the IDF. It is not currently known which came first, the commerical Hakko scopes or the military El-Op. It seems unlikely that Hakko would purchase the rights to scope design from another company. Hakko should have had the ability to design their own scopes in house. Some of the CMO labled scopes are also marked "Pat Pend, Japan" which would suggest Hakko had designed the scope themselves. Thus while the precise connection between the two scopes is not known, it seems probable that Hakko licensed the scope design to Eyal for production in Israel, with Eyal then lowering the magnification to 3x.
